Maya Jama left blushing as boyfriend Stormzy shouts her out in new track with Headie One

LOVE Island presenter Maya Jama was all smiles last week as she soaked up the California sun and danced along to her shout out, in rap beau Stormzy’s new song.

Maya, 29, had been enjoying some much needed downtime from her jam-packed reality TV schedule, to attend the star-studded annual festival, Coachella.

The Bristol-born beauty posted an adorable clip on her Instagram Story from the Californian desert, to show fans her reaction to hearing her boyfriend Stormzy’s, 30, shout out.

In the video, she can be seen bopping along to a line from the new song, Cry No More, which the Brit-award winner features on alongside fellow British rapper, Headie One, 29.

In the song, Stormzy can be heard saying the lyrics: “My last albums cold, my new one is fire, I might call it Maya.”

The UK rap powerhouses teamed up earlier in the month to release their new song and accompanying music video, which has already garnered almost 2 million views on YouTube.

Fans have flocked to the comment section of Maya’s Instagram reposted video, with their verdict of the line and Stormzy’s clear admiration for his girlfriend.

One fan said: “He needs to put a ring on her!”, with another fan echoing a similar sentiment: “Glad he spun the block [got back together] with Maya. The man is clearly in love!”

The song marks the second time the the grime titans have collaborated together.

The British rappers first released music together back in August 2020, with hit single Ain’t It Different, which also featured another London rapper, AJ Tracey, 30.

The single peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart that same year.

MAYA AND STORMZY’S LOVE STORY

The former BBC Radio 1 presenter and the South-London born artist, initially dated from 2014 to 2019.

Three years into their relationship, Stormzy’s music career took off.

The Vossi Bop star even penned the song Birthday Girl to his current flame back in 2016, with the TV presenter even appearing in the music video.

In 2017, the rap king revealed to The Mirror, that he had been thinking about proposing to Maya.

He said: “I’m still so young but I want to propose, it’s going to happen and I will do it right. She is the best.”

However, two short years later, fans were left heartbroken as the two abruptly split-up after 4 years together.

Their break-up inspired the musician to write heartfelt 2019 song Lessons.

In 2021, it had been reported that Maya had found love again with NBA player Ben Simmons, 27.

But the romance would be short-lived, when the couple reportedly ended their engagement back in August 2022.

In 2023, Maya because the host of hit ITV2 dating reality series Love Island.

In August 2023, Maya reunited with Stormzy, after the former lovebirds were snapped holding hands in Greece and on a date night in London back in October 2023.

Maya is known for her incredible sense of style and fashionable looks, which resulted in the Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer co-host being a receiving a People’s Choice Award for Best Dressed Star back in 2019.

Last year, Stormzy confirmed to Rolling Stone UK that he is working on new music, to follow the successful 2022 third album, This Is What I Mean.

The power couple have a combined total of 6.5 million followers on Instagram, and regularly post videos and stunning images of their attendance at exclusive events and campaigns.
